Ostrava, February 26, 2026 – NOVÁ HUŤ has gained a significant addition to its team – the experienced manager Roland Hinterreiter, who will oversee the construction of a new electric arc furnace. Roland Hinterreiter is returning to the company, having previously worked at the Ostrava steelworks for many years. Before leaving LIBERTY Ostrava in 2024, he was in charge of the hybrid furnace construction project.

His return to the Ostrava steelworks thus represents continuity in terms of know-how and experience with similar technological transformations. "Roland has a unique combination of detailed knowledge of local operations and practical experience in preparing and managing similar projects. It is precisely this experience that is essential for us at this stage of development," said Radek Strouhal, CEO of NOVÁ HUŤ, explaining this significant organizational change.

"I am glad that NOVÁ HUŤ has managed to restart production and that I can be part of a new stage in its development. It is a challenge for me, but also a pleasure to help with the project to build a new electric arc furnace, which will enable the company to reduce its dependence on imports of raw materials and streamline production. I believe that my experience to date will contribute to the successful implementation of this important investment," said Roland Hinterreiter.

The construction of a new electric arc furnace with a planned capacity of up to 1.5 million tons of steel per year is a key step in the company's transformation towards modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly steel production. The project will strengthen the company's competitiveness and create a solid foundation for its long-term development.

Roland Hinterreiter will be responsible for the comprehensive preparation of the project, coordination of internal teams, and cooperation with technology partners. His goal will be to ensure the smooth implementation of this strategic investment.

He had been working at the Ostrava steelworks since 2010, when he started as a project manager at the Investment plant. He had been the director of the Maintenance plant since 2019 and became the director of the hybrid furnace construction project in 2022. During his time at LIBERTY Ostrava, he was involved in the management and implementation of a number of significant investment and technology projects.
